Family Profile

Your family profile is a booklet you will create to show who you are to expectant birth parents. Your profile will contain a letter to the birth parent. This letter gives you a chance to introduce yourself and your family to expectant  birth parents. It should contain information on your personality, career, lifestyle, hobbies, and hopes/dreams for the future.

The family profile is the first and therefore most important opportunity you have to connect with an expectant birth parent on a personal level.  It allows you to put into words the warmth and love you can offer to a child. Please review the suggestions on building a Family Profile.

Through our extensive birth parent outreach efforts we have direct access to expectant birth parents across Wisconsin as well as across the country. Once we have been contacted by expectant birth parents, a social worker will preferably meet with them as soon as possible to discuss their options and to gain information regarding the direction they would like to take. If the expectant birth parents decide that adoption is the right choice for the child, the social worker will be presenting profiles to them that fit their wishes for adoptive family structure and openness among other issues.

Expectant birth parents may then choose to meet with the family or families that they feel a connection to or may select the adoptive family directly after looking through profiles.
