After you have given birth, you are still the parent and guardian of your child until you decide you are ready to consent to the termination of your parental rights, allowing your child to be legally free for adoption.  During this time you make any and all decisions regarding your child, including how often you would like to see your child and under what circumstances.

Before the birth and placement, we will work with you to create a clear plan regarding these decisions.  It is important that you always understand that your plans can and sometimes do change.  Your social worker will continually explore your choices and plans with you.
