Yes, you can choose the Adoptive Family. Adoptions of Wisconsin has profiles or picture books of families to first introduce you to our waiting families. These profiles will show you the family's individual characteristics and the special attributes that make them who they are. You can then choose to meet with a Prospective Adoptive Family and Families in order to start developing a relationship that is right for you. Your social worker will assist you in this important process.
Some Expectant Birth Parent chose to have more distance from their choice or relationship with the Adoptive Family for their own well-being. Your social worker will support you in whatever level you wish to participate. If you decide to have the agency select the Adoptive Family from their list of approved, trained and home studied families, the family that has been waiting for placement the longest period of time will be selected.
