A Mother's Gift
February 16th, 2008 was the day I gave birth to my beautiful son
it was the happiest day of my life and I knew I'd won.
I may have placed him in a happy home of love,
deep down I knew it was right, they came from above.
I may not be rich n famous, but I'm already on top,
experiencing a joy and giving a gift of joy that won't stop.
For he now has two moms and a dad who'll let him grow
to see what I never could and give him a life to truly grow.
I asked for what I wanted not knowing if it'd be true,
only it was better than that, even when sky's went so blue.
The emptiness inside when I can't give him kisses n hugs
I know life goes on, I'm strong, the rest I can shrug.
Remembering the day I held him close and wouldn't say bye
'cause to me it means forever, and the tears clouded up my eyes.
Seeing pictures, I'm not sure if it helps more or hurts me?
Just knowing in my heart to you I love and that's why I set you free.
